Steam engine, Syke Mills, Haslingden
S S Stott horizontal tandem compound engine lying out of use. The office vigorously denied its existence but the door was not locked and I was feeling naughty - it was a very long time ago now. It is now lying in a local scrapyard (since the 1980s) and has donated some parts to the restoration of the Grane Mill engine.
Here is a view from the crank end - Image This was in the days before I had a significant flash gun and was a time exposure on a tripod and doubled to account for reciprocity failure - as recommended by the late George Cooper who taught me quite a bit about steam and photography.
