Rawtenstall Railway Station
GWR 3440 City of Truro is seen here at Rawtenstall station.
Built at the GWR Swindon Works in 1903 it was reputedly the first steam locomotive in Europe
to travel in excess of 100 mph reaching a speed of 102.3 mph in May 1904.
The building in the background, with the clock tower, is Rawtenstall station

Changing ends
The loco has just hauled a 'soccer special' from Bury to Rawtenstall - it will drop the fans off for the match at Ramsbottom on the way back - and is reversing to the points before going to the other end of the train.
