Panopticon-Corporation Park
Panopticon on the site where two cannons used to be. The guns which overlooked the park were trophies of the Crimean war.In 1857 application was made by the Town Council to the Secretary for War asking for a trophy of that campaign, and Lord Panmure presented two Russian guns to the town. The structure affords a view over Blackburn (When the trees are bare!)
