The Rolls Royce of litter bins
Outside Bankfield Mill, Barnoldswick. This former cotton weaving mill is now used for aero engine production. It is in front of a sandwich shop - Choice of Rolls.

Coates Wharf, Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Barnoldswick
The derelict Coates Wharf alongside the canal is currently up for sale. There is room here to develop a small boat business.

Bankfield Mill, Barnoldswick
Bankfield Mill was a large weaving shed built in two stages. The part nearest the camera was built in 1905 with a shed holding 1,700 looms and in 1909 a second half was built with a further 1200 looms. In 1940 the Ministry of Aircraft Production requisitioned the mill and the Rover company took over Bankfield Mill as a satellite site to develop Frank Whittle's jet engine. In 1943 Rolls Royce took over full control of the work and have continued to produce, test and develop aircraft engines at the site to the current day.
This picture was taken with the photographer well on the public right of way although security was not impressed.
