White Swan, Wheatley Lane, Lancashire
The White Swan, in the Pendleside village of Wheatley Lane, does not appear in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The reason is to protect it from a vast influx of visitors who might overwhelm the otherwise local clientele. The pub is not well known away from the area, but the beer is superb, with a choice of several real ales.

Wheatley Lane, Lancashire: The 'White Swan'
Wheatley Lane is one of the so-called Pendleside villages, and the 'White Swan' is a locals' pub, with a stupendous collection of real ales, (there were eleven available last time I went in), so make sure your driver turns up on time, and it won't be my fault if you leave here sober.
