Padiham: Helms Mill
Built in 1807 just off Ightenhill Street, this was one of the very first mills in Padiham, presumably a woollen mill. It is long disused for its original purpose.

Padiham: Steps up to Ightenhill Street
At the top of Eccleshill Street, the level difference to Ightenhill Street was too great f02 a vehicular junction, so a flight of steps was provided for pedestrian use. These are the same steps as shown on Image, taken many years previously. The area has been cleaned up extensively since then.
