Demolition of Hargher Clough Works
Hargher Clough Works was originally a weaving mill. It was taken over during World War 2 by Joseph Lucas Ltd (Later Lucas Aerospace) and was pivotal in the manufacture of equipment for early jet engines. It continued as a major manufacturing centre for aero-engine equipment until the 1980's, after which it was used by Gardner Aeropspace for similar aircraft related work. It is currently being demolished as part of the redevelopment of the locality.
