The Bat House
Twenty metres to the right of this Bat House stood the William Thompson Recreation Centre. The sports complex was demolished in early 2007, but work was delayed due to bats nesting in the building. Bats, being of course a protected species, had to be offered alternative accommodation. These nocturnal creatures now happily share their Des Res with the occasional passer-by sheltering from the elements. It stands directly outside Burnley Magistrates Court.
