Primrose Mill, Harle Syke
This weaving shed is currently subject to a planning proposal for housing. Until the mid-late 1970s it was powered by a fine Pollit & Wigzell horizontal tandem compound steam engine. I missed this by less than a handful of years. the engine house is behind the chimney and the boiler house with a water tank on top is to the right. The picture is from by the lodge of the preserved Queen Street Mill.

This was the last working steam powered cotton weaving shed in Lancashire and closed in about 1982. It is now preserved and operated as a museum.
