Substation on Blackmoor Lane
The small substation is off a footpath in the north of Henstridge. The path is an old one, being here long before this part of the village and the electricity network was developed in the late twentieth century.

A relic on Blackmoor Lane
The north of Henstridge was once open fields with a few public paths running across them. Keeping the route after modern development, the path retains an old gate despite the rest of the environment.

Site of Henstridge station, 1998
View SE from the A30 bridge, towards Bournemouth: ex-S&D Joint Bath - Bournemouth West line, closed 7/3/66. The station had been on the right where the new houses are, the line having been single-track over this stretch (Templecombe - Blandford). During the War (March 1944), a US Army tank-transporter fell off the bridge here onto a southbound Troup train as it passed below.
