Curry at the Crossroads
Pub on one side, curry house on the other. This has to be one of the best crossroads for a night out for many a mile.

Sign for the Virginia Ash, Henstridge Ash
The sign shows Sir Walter Raleigh, credited with the introduction of tobacco to England, puffing on a clay pipe. Behind him a waiter hovers with a bucket of water, perhaps believing that Sir Walter is on fire. The sign serves as a useful reminder that smoking must have seemed very strange to those who first saw it being done.
