A lost crossing
This remains all that is left of what used to be a footbridge across the Alham - a stile and some fierce brambles. It's a shame but the resourceful wanderer will find another access not too far away.

This is a surprisingly expansive road junction on the A371, 3 km north of Castle Cary. The minor road (left) is Wyle Road, which leads eventually to Bruton.
