The Olde Kings Arms
Litton's public house can trace its origins back to about 1420. Overlooking the River Chew provides a charming and atmospheric place for an evening out.

Bridge over the River Chew
The Chew is a relatively small watercourse here as it runs through Litton. The bridge itself could easily be mistaken for a simple wall along the roadside; however, there is (or rather, was) a benchmark on the top of it - see Image The village hall is to the right of shot.

Missing the important bit!
A Rivet Benchmark on the small bridge over the Chew just next to the village hall. Sadly, the actual rivet is no longer there but the hole and arrows remain. See http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm47898 for the entry in the Benchmark Database, Image] for a wider view of the bridge and Image] for the hall.

Short hop over the Chew
A footpath directs the traveller down a short flight of steps to the little bridge. Along the banks are a number of what appear to be the back gardens of several properties. Perhaps because of this the bridge has a metal frame to obstruct wheeled vehicles - see Image
