A hidden prospect
Some secure covering for a mystery building in Chilcompton, presumably as part of some improvements. Maybe it's a good prospect.

2010 : Road repairs on "The Street" Chilcompton
Heading for the top of the hill for a few geographs I was redirected by a kind gentleman who advised me I would be unable to get through this way - he was right! The lorry appears to be delivering tar.

Down S&D express approaching Chilcompton
View northward, down onto the Somerset & Dorset (Bath - Bournemouth) line just before the short tunnel a mile or so before Chilcompton Tunnel, on the gruelling eight miles of 1-in-50/60 up from Radstock to the Mendips summit at Masbury. This Summer Saturday express battling up the bank is the 07.00 from Cleethorpes to Bournemouth West, headed by LMS 2P 4-4-0 No. 40564 piloting SR Bulleid Light Pacific No. 34101 'Hartland'. These engines would have taken over at Bath (Green Park), the train having been hauled by a variety of LNE and LMS locomotives on its extraordinary journey via Lincoln (St Marks), Nottingham (Midland), Leicester (Midland) and Birmingham (New St.). (Before the War it left the S&D at Templecombe and went to Sidmouth and Exmouth by the SR)! Who on earth would have travelled the whole way?!

A business opportunity following on from the railways
A slightly different variation of the theme of small businesses using railway lines infrastructure. This firm occupies the old tunnel near Chilcompton.

2010 : A bit further, just a little bit further
Looking over a fence in Somer Lea. You don't get this sort of thing in the middle of Bristol. It may be rare in Berkeley Square, but not in Chilcompton.
