The old depository
This elegant building is clearly one with a different past. The firm of Fortt, Hatt and Billings were prominent house valuers, auctioneers, removals and contractors.

Sounds like a new use
This branch of Richer Sounds is in what was formerly the Porter Butt, a popular watering hole on the London Road but which eventually fell to the downturn in the trade. Originally the Walcot Palais, it opened in 1787. Interestingly, the new firm arrived in 2010 and have kept some of the old pub features, like the Lounge window and the cockerel - see Image

Chelsea House, Bath
Chelsea House is on the corner of the A4 London Road and Snow Hill. There are flats on the upper floors, accessed by the brown door on the corner. The ground floor is occupied by Ripples, a bathroom and accessories showroom.
