Camden Crescent, Bath
One of the many Georgian delights in Bath, this crescent was built by John Eveleigh in 1788. Sadly, some of the end houses collapsed in 1889, and hence the central feature is no longer in the middle. See Image] for a benchmark.

Showing the pedimented off-centre centrepiece, and nearer, the terrace's vaulted substructure which extends the full width of the road. Above are wrought-iron railings with urn finials. Grade I listed. See also: Image

2008 : Camden Crescent, Bath
One of Bath's impressive crescents. The stonework maybe a bit crumbly in places but that is only on the surface and the views from the top floor windows would equal if not surpass those from the Royal Crescent itself. Camden Crescent faces east looking up the Avon Valley to Batheaston and catches the first rays of the rising sun.

Camden Crescent, Bath (1)
Another delectable Georgian terrace taking full advantage of its lofty position. This one has added grandeur in the form of giant Corinthian pilasters, promoted to giant columns at the pedimented centre and the near end. The pediment is strikingly off-centre because the scheme was never completed. During construction a landslide destroyed several houses and revealed the unsuitability of the land for building. By John Eveleigh, c1787-88. Grade I listed.
