Monkton Farleigh school
The village has a history of education, beginning with a number of small and separate schoolrooms in the late 1800s. A National School was founded in the 1870s, which in turn added a new school in 1886. Pupil numbers were good until the late twentieth century; things did not improve thereafter so the school merged with the one at Atworth, now being known as Churchfields on both.

The Covid-19 lockdown of 2020 brought a radically different way of life to the country. During the health crisis, many thoughts were focussed on those who were engaging in the fight on the hospital wards. But more people were part of that unflinching service and the postal workers are not forgotten!

2008 : Monkton Farleigh crossroads
This is the nearest thing to a crossroads in Monkton Farleigh. The road behind us goes to Wraxall, follow the road ahead and you get to Bathford, left leads to the A363 and the road to the right wanders around a bit then gets to Kingsdown.
