2007 : Road Junction, Hilperton
The B3105 from Staverton and Hilperton Marsh meets to old A361. A busy scene before the coming of the Hilperton bypass, the road straight ahead is now subject to a 20mph speed limit and "speed bumps". The Lion and Fiddle public house is on the right.

Hilperton buildings [1]
The uniquely named Lion and Fiddle inn, number 120 Trowbridge Road has 18th century origins. Built in rubble stone with ashlar dressings and a stone tile roof. Hilperton is a residential village adjacent to the northern suburbs of Trowbridge and is only some 1¼ miles north of Trowbridge town centre. Although the village was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, little is known of its history until the 19th century when home-based cloth weaving was a major source of employment. The village was astride the A361 road but is now by-passed.
