14-20 Queen Square, Bath
The square's west side lacks the coherence of the splendid north side (Image]), and has not survived unaltered. It is still richly modelled and clearly sets out to impress. By John Wood the Elder, 1728-36. Grade I listed.

Bath: lion in Queen Square
One of many lions around Bath city centre, obviously part of a public art project. This one has painted on its back all sorts of British coins, from ancient ones to the 2008 design set such as the 20p and £1 on its backside.

NEW Bath : Queen Square
Queen Square is a notable example of Georgian architecture located in the heart of Bath, Somerset. Conceived by architect John Wood, the Elder, between 1728 and 1736, it represents the inception of Bath's transformation into a city renowned for its uniform and palatial architectural style. Wood's design aimed to emulate the grandeur of Palladian architecture, creating the illusion of a single grand mansion when viewed from the south side.
