A sculpture, part of Longleat's upcoming 'Festival of Light'.
Built on the site of an Augustinian priory, Longleat House, completed in 1580 and altered in 1801, is an early example of the Elizabethan prodigy house. The first stately home to open its doors to the public (1949) and the first safari park to open outside Africa (1966). The park is on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, grade I, and there is much detail and history at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1000439
