Zeals war memorial
The village pays its respects to the fallen of two world wars here on the tiny green. The memorial is made from stone quarried at Tisbury, near Salisbury. The rector, S.F.Handcock, designed it to include broken stones to represent the broken lives, with seven stones in the upper layer to mark the seven men who died in the Great War. Efforts to raise the funds of £121-2s-1d were brought about by villagers' donations and events; on 11th July, 1920, Rector Handcock dedicated the memorial. One extra name was added after WWII. Grade II listed.

Village Scene, Zeals
Zeals is the only place-name in Wiltshire beginning with a ‘Z’ although this should really be an ‘S’ as the name comes from the Old English ‘sealh’ meaning a small willow or sallow and the early name was Seale, Sela and several variants of these.
