Metal plate attached to stone post by the B3095, in parish of Mere (Salisbury District), Castle Street, in front of Milestone Cottage, on South side of road. Wincanton iron plate, erected by the Wincanton turnpike trust in the 18th century.

The Grove Building, Mere
Built at the expense of Miss Julia Chafyn Grove at a cost of £2,400, the building dates from 1899 and was used as a school. It is built of limestone and red brick. There is an Ordnance Survey bench mark on the wall facing the church.
