The Mere Library and Museum is situated in an old school building, which was built by Dean Pearson of Salisbury in 1839, which is commemorated on a plaque which adorns the outside wall.

The 1899 school https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1130753 : "A vigorous and assured building, very characteristic of the turn of the century; built at the expense of Miss Julia Chafyn Grove at a cost of £2,400+". The building is now a parish community centre.

Stained Glass in St Michael's Church - Mere
