Grade II listed 1 Railway Place, Bath
Early Victorian (probably 1840s) 3-storey building located near Bath Spa railway station, which was built in 1840. 1 Railway Place was Grade II listed in 1975.

Ralph Allen House
Now part of the Post Office Service Centre, this delightful detached house was built circa 1840 as part of the railway-associated development. The house shows both Neoclassical and Italianate styles. Trains at Bath Spa
Our train home - approaching the platform on the right of the shot - crosses with a London - bound HST at Bath Spa. I remember the HSTs being in service in the mid 1980s, and the thing I most remember about seeing them leave York - where I was at boarding school - was the unearthly whistling sound their Paxman Valenta gas turbine engines used to make when they were picking up speed. Sadly, this now seems to be a thing of the past as all the HSTs remaining in service have been re engined, and now they sound like trucks.
