The Head aka Blue Nose
In Birmingham a supporter of Birmingham City FC (aka Small Heath Alliance) is known as a Blue Nose. This statue, near the home ground of the club, is officially called 'The Head'. However, shortly after it was erected some local wag painted its nose blue. With the short exception of time when a Villa fan improved (so they thought) the colour scheme to claret & blue, the nose has remained blue ever since. To be hoped some idiot does not go along & paint it dayglo yellow, but then maybe!

The hall appears to date from 1914. The date is above the entrance door, and also the words Billiard Hall. It is noticeable that the windows have grilles, there is a metal shutter which can be brought down over the door, and this is observed by two closed circuit television cameras. Amongst the attractions on offer are Sky Sports, arcade machines, hot food, private rooms for hire, and also "buzzer on door". Clearly there are people who would like to get in, whom the management would prefer didn't.

Minor changes to the decor on the outside, and new signage by the look of things, since Image was taken, but the fundamental change is that the pub appears to have reopened in recent times.
