Shopping Parade in Stratford Road, Shirley
This parade of shops is on the edge of the Shirley shopping area and consequently is occupied mainly by service-oriented businesses such as a town planning consultancy and insurance broker. I am tempted to enter the first property and declare 'Alexa, give me a haircut!'. Birmingham Runner is a specialist shop selling sports equipment. The large building behind is the recently constructed 'Solihull Retirement Village'.

Pathway off Sandy Hill Road
This local area is characterised by paths and alleyways which link mid-twentieth century residential roads and housing. This path preserves the approximate line of an old rural footpath which originally crossed fields and linked Haslucks Green Road with Baldwins Lane.

This local area is characterised by paths and alleyways which link mid-twentieth century residential roads and housing. This path preserves the approximate line of an old rural footpath which originally crossed fields and linked Haslucks Green Road with Baldwins Lane. At this point one side of the path or the other is the boundary between Solihull (left) and Birmingham (right).
