Pebble bank in River Arrow
Looking east down the River Arrow as it runs through Arrow Valley Park near Washford Drive. In quite a few places similar pebble banks can be seen in the river. The water level was low enough for the photographer to climb down and stand on the pebble bank in the middle of the river.

Shared path, Arrow Valley Park, Washford, Redditch
Washford Drive is coming into view. The River Arrow is among the trees, right. The path is part of National Cycle Network route 5, which according to the Sustrans website is: "a long distance route which connects Reading and Holyhead via Oxford, Banbury, Stratford-upon-Avon, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Walsall, Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, Chester, Colwyn Bay and Bangor. However, the section between Walsall and Stafford is still under development."

Bend of the River Arrow below Washford Drive bridge, Redditch
The unfurling leaves of poplars and willows create a vivid haze. Scenes like this are common in Redditch. The New Town is adapted to the semi-natural Worcestershire countryside; they are on equal terms in the landscape.
