Bridge Street Bridge near Amington in Staffordshire
Bridge Street Bridge is No 70 across the Coventry Canal west of Amington near Tamworth. Originally it was a farm accommodation bridge, but the pasture has long gone, and housing has replaced it. Now it is purely an access footbridge to the towpath from Bridge Street and Amington Road, off to the right. Bridges 65 to 70 in Amington are all Grade II listed.

Coventry Canal: Bridge Number 70
This was originally a farmers' bridge enabling access to and from the fields on either side. By 1924, as that is when they first appear on currently available Ordnance Survey maps, the houses on Bridge Street to the left and leading to the bridge had arrived. The housing to the right is much more modern. The bridge is a Grade II Listed Structure.

Bridge Street Bridge (what an imaginative name!) is No 70 across the Coventry Canal. It was originally just an accommodation bridge allowing farm access to land on both sides. Now, with housing all around, it only allows access to the south (left). Jo Turner adds:
