Waiting for Glascote Top Lock, Tamworth, Staffordshire
There are times in holiday periods when it can take two or three hours to get through the two locks at Glascote. Today just three boats are waiting to descend (including the one in the distance) and passage through both took just over thirty minutes. The bridge through to the arm on the left gives access to a boatyard and moorings.

Glascote Basin on the Coventry Canal at Tamworth
The basin is a short arm used at present as a boatyard. Diesel, gas and moorings are available. There used to be a colliery and a large terra-cotta works at Glascote, so maybe this was originally a short canal arm to service those industries.
