The Anchor
Located on the corner of Bradford St & Rea St, this pub has been voted Birmingham CAMRA pub of the year more times than I care to remember.

Digbeth Pub
A typical terracotta pub - still there on most street corners in Digbeth but fast disappearing. The area is a stone's throw from the city centre and ripe for redevelopment. Will these buildings survive?

When rock was young: Black Sabbath mural, Rea Street
This mural is painted on a blank wall facing a car park between the Anchor pub and Digbeth coach station. Black Sabbath were formed in Birmingham in 1968. They are not my taste in music but are clearly a Brummie cultural icon; see also the canal bridge on Broad Street that has been named Black Sabbath Bridge, with a bench commemorating the band Image

30-32 Bradford Street, Birmingham
By James & Lister Lea, 1891. It was built as a hide and skin market ("an important Birmingham trade") proving that they didn't only design pubs. It looked empty at the time, and its condition had only deteriorated by 2021.
