Where did that name - Great Barr, Sandwell, West Midlands
The Cat and Fiddle pub (public house) on Beacon Road, Pheasey. Allegedly, there was a mediaeval knight, known as Caton Fidele, Caton the Faithful, and this may be where the name is from. Beacon Road roundabout 2020 - Walsall, West Midlands
This photo reprises the one of the same - nearly - title taken by David Stowell Image] on Sunday 9th July 2006. There has been very little if any change since his photo was taken. The Cat and Fiddle still stands Image] Image] and the only change has been in the increase of vegetation on the roundabout itself. The B4154 Beacon Road here is joined by Waverley Avenue coming downhill from the left and Collingwood Drive from the right. This area Pheasey was part of Birmingham until some time ago when it became a part of Walsall. Time photo taken 4.50 pm BST (British Summer Time).

Beacon Road shops
A row of shops built to service the needs of this area of 1960s and 70s housing. Their use has probably been greatly influenced by the large supermarket, the roof of which can be glimpsed through the trees, which now exists in the next square to the south.
