Woodland along a bridleway, Bell Green
The crimson-tinged vegetation to the right is a stand of native dogwood, Cornus sanguinea, still in its characteristic winter colouring. The bridleway runs from Bell Green Lane to Clewshaw Lane. Out of shot, left, is a large crescent-shaped tip of building rubble that appears to originate from Headley Farm. Aerial photos suggest that some large-scale landscape creation is in progress.

Headley Heath Lane and Lehing Farm
As old farmhouses and cottages have been bought up and gentrified, owners have introduced suburban features into the Arden countryside. Here we see smart white paint and exotic conifers, mostly Leyland Cypress, upstaging old hedgerow oaks.

Oaks near Headley Heath
The view is from Headley Heath Lane just east of Lehing Farm Image The lone tree in the field, centre, is the only sign that a hedge has been removed. It was parallel to the one beyond. This is a landscape of scattered habitation: the roofs of barns can just be seen, centre, at Gay Hill Farm. To the right is a house on Middle Lane, part of the scatter that is Headley Heath. The Heath suffix in place names is common on the southern side of Birmingham.
