Avebury House, Newhall Street, Birmingham
Quite a florid affair, but not too overdone, and almost like a Georgian house severely remodelled and generally hacked about. By Marcus Type, 1905-06.
Occupying the ground floor, behind the Doric columns, was a Nepalese restaurant, Jojolapa, while the offices above were being advertised to let.

43-51 Newhall Street, Birmingham
A large brick and terracotta job, bristling with shaped gables, dormers, canted bays and the obligatory corner feature. Built 1898-1900. Grade II listed.
Originally for a medical insurance society, the Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund, at the time of the photo the ground floor was partly taken up chain pub All Bar One. Offices above. However many new office blocks are going up, space in existing buildings is always being advertised.
