Canterbury House, Newhall Street, Birmingham
The gridlike facade and preponderance of brick suggests this dates from the early or mid 1950s. Now in multiple occupancy.

Newhall Street, Birmingham
Many of the buildings at this top end were associated with British Telecoms. I used to visit this area regularly to visit the former Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry that is now relocated to Thinktank at Millennium Point.

Birmingham and Fazeley Canal in Birmingham
Regeneration of the city by the canal extends up to and over the canal as it descends the locks from Farmer's Bridge. Here, the wide pound between Lock Nos 9 and 10 is totally built over by modern commercial property. The BCN website has interesting pictures taken from the air during the years of this redevelopment.

Incidentally, the latest Nicholson Guides to the Waterways use reduced OS 1:25000 mapping overlaid with the top 9 locks of the Farmer's Bridge flight in the wrong places.
