View north-east from the Library of Birmingham
This is the view seen by looking north-east from the Secret Garden, on Level 7 of the Library of Birmingham. The long red-brick building at the foot of the image is in Summer Row. Leading away on the right of the picture is Lionel Street.
Notice the canalside plastic clad Islington Gates apartments development (on the left) by Fleet Street. This was built in 2002, and following the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, in 2019 the block was deemed to have different but still unsafe cladding, which has to be removed. This started in April 2021.

Birmingham and Fazeley canal at Farmer's Bridge Locks, Birmingham
Farmer's Bridge Locks is a flight of thirteen on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal in the city centre. The flight lowers (or raises) the water level by 81 feet (24.6 metres) in about 750 metres. This view is looking north-east from Lock No 5, towards Lock No 6.
