Major construction in Birmingham
Photographed from by the Hall of Memory and with the Town Hall in the right background this complex is where the old library was. There's some very odd lighting on the building under construction - I think it's flare due to the oblique position of the sun.

Former Birmingham Central Library
This is the former Birmingham Central Library which had a life of less than 40 years, it opened in 1974 and closed in the summer of 2013. It was described by Prince Charles as looking like "a place where books are incinerated, not kept". It now awaits demolition. Here it is viewed from Centenary Square.
