Northfield Station (not quite completed)
After the start of new cross-city services between Four Oaks and Longbridge, in (late) 1978 the buildings (see on left) were not yet complete. All four platforms were in use locally because of complicated workings to/from Longbridge to the west, and through Kings Norton to the east

Northfield Interchange
Described as an 'interchange' between bus and rail transport is this bus stop at Northfield Station. Diamond bus KW02CXG is on service 19 for Longbridge via Kings Norton, destinations also served by trains on the same line as Northfield station!

West Heath Road, Railway Bridge
Traffic flows freely under the cross-city rail route, near to Northfield Station. Underneath the bridge can be seen several arches, including pedestrian path. The archways are in two parts as the width of the railway was extended in the past. There was once an entrance to the original island platform Image] half way between the two arches.
