Canada Geese near Bournville, Birmingham
Seen here on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, there were ten in this gaggle (is that right for wild geese?). It is a pity these beautiful birds have now acquired the status of "pests". Clearly, no one has developed a popular (i.e. money making) way of preparing them for sale to cook, or they could at least be harvested, not just culled.

Variation on a Norcon pillbox
Built in late 1940 or early 1941, this two-storey pillbox and watchtower once watched over the nearby factory premises of Guest Keen and Nettlefolds (GKN), which produced parts for planes, weapons and helmets during WWII. Possibly disguised as a small chimney, but more likely simply a combined watchtower and pillbox/shelter, it was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101451752-pillbox-on-the-east-side-of-worcester-and-birmingham-canal-bournville-ward#.XjfNCGj7RPY & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1451752 in 2018.
