Closed end of Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham
The road used to continue from this point to a junction with Hunts Road. However that section, on the other side of the fence, is now closed presumably for the building of a new Tesco supermarket which was first mooted in the early 2000's. The section from Pershore Road to here remains open, as just behind the camera position is an access road to Stirchley United Working Men's Club. How the closed section looked a few months ago can be seen here:-

Closed off part of Hazelwell Lane & disused land, Stirchley, Birmingham
By putting the camera lens up to a small gap in the fencing in Hunts Road, it was possible to see what was on the other side, without trespassing. Not that there was much to be seen, mainly a large area of waste land, presumably to be redeveloped, and the remains of this end of Hazelwell Lane. The surface of much of this seems to have been broken up. Part of the road, from its junction with Pershore Road, is still in use to give access to a club, which can be seen in the distance on the right.

Only One Left, Hazelwell Lane.
This is a small block of terraced houses in Stirchley close to the River Rea. This terrace is isolated in an area devoted to business and industrial units. Only one house in the terrace remains occupied and all the rest are boarded up with metal sheets to prevent vandalism.

Stirchley United Working Men's Club, 41 Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham
From the name outside, "Stirchley United", you could assume this was a local football club, but in fact it is a working men's club. The club relocated from its previous premises to this new building, which opened in March 2015. It has two bars, a large function room and other facilities. It is currently (June 2016) the only building in Hazelwell Lane. Everything else has been demolished.

Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham
On both sides of this road there are now huge demolition sites where nothing remains but rubble. Apart from a working men's club which opened here in March 2015, the last buildings were a terrace of houses but now these have gone. A photograph of these by Migel Mykura dating from April 2011 can be seen here:-

Future plans for the area include a new Tesco supermarket, first mooted in 2001, which it is hoped will open in 2017, but building has not yet started. Update (January 2017) - part of the road has been closed, presumably for the building of the new Tesco. See:-
