The junction of the Pershore Road with Fordhouse Lane as it turns off to the right. The 2CV seems to be carrying its own Zebra Crossing!

Worcester and Birmingham Canal approaching Bournville
The Worcester and Birmingham Canal was constructed in stages between 1791 and 1815. Grain, timber and agricultural produce were carried to the Midlands. Industrial goods and coal were carried down towards Worcester, often for onward transport to Bristol. Later, salt carrying was added as a regular cargo. Pairs of donkeys were often used in preference to horses, maybe because they could easily be put onto the boats which had to be legged (or pulled by tug) through the four tunnels near Birmingham.

Fire Service Training by the Worcester and Birmingham Canal
The crew seemed to be working very efficiently and with considerable concentration, having just removed the hose from the canal. No doubt the placing of the hose into the canal a little earlier was done with a time target. No fire was seen adjacent!

Variation on a Norcon pillbox
Built in late 1940 or early 1941, this two-storey pillbox and watchtower once watched over the nearby factory premises of Guest Keen and Nettlefolds (GKN), which produced parts for planes, weapons and helmets during WWII. Possibly disguised as a small chimney, but more likely simply a combined watchtower and pillbox/shelter, it was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101451752-pillbox-on-the-east-side-of-worcester-and-birmingham-canal-bournville-ward#.XjfNCGj7RPY & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1451752 in 2018.
