Stirchley has a somewhat run-down feel but the British Oak pub (on the right) is a fine example of an inter-war roadhouse retaining many original features.

Located on the corner of Hunts Road and Pershore Road, this is a branch of Robert Oulsnam & Company. They are estate agents with several offices in the Birmingham area and north Worcestershire and specialise in the selling and letting of homes. This office was formerly Laing & Co. Next door is an office of David Bunn & Co, a firm of solicitors specialising in conveyancing, probate and similar areas.

Bournville Lane, Stirchley
Near the junction with Bond Street. Looking uphill towards the canal, railway line and chocolate factory. This is an area of late 19th century terraced housing. Above the shop fronts on the street corners her are mouldings proclaiming this to be 'Bournville Market', although many of the shops lining Bournville Lane appear to have been turned into dwellings.

Bournville Lane is, just about, still a mixed residential and business road. But the businesses are in a small minority and judging by the number of houses which clearly were formerly shops, there has obviously been a decline in recent times. The road coming in on the left is Regent Street.
