Gift of the Cadburys - Bournville, Birmingham
Rowheath Pavilion was built in 1924 as a sports pavilion set in the parkland of Rowheath Park for Cadbury workers. Later a social club for workers and local people, it is now the base for the Rowheath Christian Community and is a much-used local facility. Time photo taken 3.03 pm BST (British Summer Time).

Rowheath Pavilion and fishing Lake
Rowheath Pavilion was built at the behest of George Cadbury in 1924 as part of the facilities for his workers in Bournville. The facilities included sports fields, bowling greens, a lido and this fishing lake. After falling into disrepair following the sale of Cadbury's the Pavilion and many of the facilities were reopened in 1985 following a management buyout. After further financial difficulties the Pavilion is now thriving again under the auspices of the Pavilion Christian Community. See http://www.rowheathpavilion.co.uk/ Ironically the result of all these upheavals is that this is one of the few places in the former Bournville Estate which serve alcoholic drinks - something of which George Cadbury would not have approved!

Woodlands Park in Cotteridge
An area of green space in Birmingham, stretching between Northfield and Bournville. Nothing of it is really visible in this photo, but on the left there is an area of ground recorded as 'Burnt Mound' by an archaeological survey in the early 1980s, after the stream exposed a section of heat-damaged stones and charcoal, believed to be roughly 3000 years old https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1020540
