New Street Station, Birmingham
Birmingham's new New Street station and the Gateway Plus redevelopment, now known as “Grand Central” were officially opened in September 2015. The original shopping centre was built in 1971 and was known as “The Birmingham Shopping Centre” before being renamed “The Palisades". The redesign of the shopping mall by Haskoll Architects, that now houses 62 shops, has this glass atrium roof as its centrepiece.
