Industrial units line the canal through here but few if any have ever made use of it. These are the backs of industrial buildings fronting onto Wood Lane.

Birmingham and Fazeley Canal near Birches Green, Birmingham
Land to the south (right) of the canal, as far as the M6 is exclusively used for industrial units. To the north of the canal is housing at Birches Green.
This canal's purpose was to provide a link between Birmingham and the south east of England, by way of the Coventry Canal and the Oxford Canal. John Smeaton was the engineer, and the canal was completed in 1789. The canal now runs from the BCN Main Line at Old Turn Junction, Birmingham to the Coventry Canal at Fazeley Junction, just outside Tamworth. The length is 15 miles (24 km), and it includes 38 locks. I think that this narrow 'bridge' carries cables over the Fazeley canal (behind the photographer) to the substation on the opposite side

Birches Green Substation
I'm just guessing that that is the correct name.
I also assume that the structure bridging the canal carries supply cables.
Any suggestions as to what this could, should or is called; an electroduct?
