We've Started.... But Will We Finish ??
New street 'furniture', road signs and lights being constructed on corner of Berwood Farm Road and Orphanage Road. Part of road-calming improvements. Maybe the plan is to keep it this way and traffic slows to spot what has or hasn't changed :)

I am a mole and I live in a hole
Where once was a poorly maintained hotel Image, Image, Image is now a building site, preparing the foundations / sewers etc for a large nursing home. For neighbours, what once was an eyesore is now, temporarily, just daylight.

Douay Road, north Birmingham
The road does not present the regimented appearance of regularly spaced houses because the distance between the frontages increases towards the middle of the road: it seems to widen then narrow.

Unusual Architectural Style, Chester Road
Josiah Mason (pictured) would not be pleased. The interesting style of property on (north) corner of Orphanage Road and Chester Road has not been cared for for some time. The owners have been trying to develop the site, and there were proposals to demolish the 3 houses here and replace with new housing. Seems to be put off again. The statue of Josiah Mason is on the island, amongst flowers. The site of former orphanage is less than 100 metres away.
