Soho Road Station (site of)
View from passenger train from Walsall to Birmingham, having run south from Hamstead through Handsworth Wood. The station was closed in 1941. The tracks widen here, possibly because of the station platforms, but also because of freight lines that once went south-east to Park Road (Gib Heath).
Between the road bridge arches ahead was where the booking office accessed Soho Road itself; see http://railaroundbirmingham.co.uk/Stations/soho_road.php .
The Walsall to Birmingham trains alternated between this route to Birmingham, and those that went east from Hamstead through Perry Barr and Aston.

Soho Road Station (site of)
Not a lot to look at, but the location of entrance to station can clearly be seen on wall (to right) as the brickwork is different.
Nothing of the station remains behind the wall. However, see http://www.railaroundbirmingham.co.uk/Stations/soho_road.php for old photo and further details.

Gurdwara and community centre, Soho Road, Handsworth
This very prominent landmark was built in the late 1970s. It is the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sevak Jatha gurdwara, a Sikh place of worship. According to its Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guru_Nanak_Nishkam_Sevak_Jatha it has five Darbar halls for prayer, worship and the recitation of the scriptures, and three Langar halls serving food. The Nishkam Centre in the foreground is a community centre which has been added more recently; its plain modern style contrasts with the more traditional Punjabi architecture of the gurdwara.
