Garage Court off Chad Road
This garage court, see on a foggy winter day, is unusually well maintained. I was told that the garages were originally for residents of Kenilworth Court but the court is now a separate property with garages available to rent, and accessed from the side of 2 Chad Road. The very many windows of the blocks comprising Kenilworth Court need painting, which looks like a very large task.

Little Iran on the Hagley Road
This is a row of shops on the north side of Hagley Road between Wyndham Road and Monument Road. Second from the left is the Colbeh Persian Kitchen & Bar (Kolbeh in Persian means cottage or hut). To its right is the Cafe Rumi, named after the medieval Persian poet, jurist, contemplative and founder of the Mevlevi order of whirling dervishes. Three doors to the right is the Pars Supermarket, an Iranian supermarket. Beyond Monument Road, and not visible in this photo, can be found the Shiraz restaurant and the Rose supermarket. This area of Edgbaston is a centre of the Iranian community in Birmingham. Persia is an old name for Iran, derived from the ancient province of Pars, which roughly corresponds to the modern Iranian province of Fars. The language of Iran is known as Persian or Farsi.
