Replacement Edwardian Postbox in St Agnes Road
This black pillar box is not in mourning for its predecessor Image, but is a newly installed box still in shrink wrap and awaiting commissioning. Close inspection of the new box showed that it is in fact a reclaimed Edwardian box. The pillar box is located in the heart of a conservation area, so hats off to those involved in arranging for the replacement to be a period item just the same as its predecessor.

Remains of Edwardian Postbox in St Agnes Road
This Edwardian pillar box was smashed to bits on or around 28 December 2017. Initially described by local media as an 'attack', a car skidding seems like a more likely explanation. The road was very icy at the time and curves at this point. See the box before the event: Image

Houses on Oxford Road, Wake Green
The houses here look like they date from the early 1900s, which is borne out by the fact that some a little further to the east Image and Image are very much of that vintage, as are a couple on St Agnes Road, just north of the church.
