The Swan Fish Bar
So named because it is situated at the lower end of Swanshurst Lane. Observant fish and chip fans (like me) will notice an Ordnance survey cut bench mark just to the left of the downpipe.

Local Services on Wake Green Road
This small parade offers local services and is adjacent to a Co-op and chip shop. There used to be a small post office here too but that closed a year or two ago. In much of Birmingham it seems to be acceptable to drive and park on grass verges and here the resulting damage can be seen. In one of the houses just visible behind the tree and behind the pillar box JRR Tolkien lived for a while when a child.

Boardwalk in Moseley Bog
When The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country took over management of Moseley Bog and Joy's Wood Nature Reserve one of the improvements they made was to build boardwalks to improve access to this special place. This view shows a section with a viewing platform. The reed bed is the wet remnant of an old millpond that has been returning to nature at least a century.
