View south-east from Centenary Square in Birmingham
Looking towards Paradise Circus and Suffolk Street. This shows the current status of the roads here as the huge inner city redevelopment progresses. The approaching Midlands Metro tram is performing trial journeys between New Street Station and the new terminus off to the right by Centenary Square, the ICC and Symphony Hall. The service is due to open for the public in December 2019. There are no overhead power wires. Trams operate between Grand Central (New Street Station) and Library (Centenary Square/ICC/Symphony Hall) on battery power.

Tram on Paradise Street in Birmingham
The Midlands Metro tam is travelling away from the camera, along Paradise Street towards the new terminus by Centenary Square. It is still conducting trials prior to the service opening to the public in December 2019. There are no overhead power wires. Trams operate between Grand Central (New Street Station) and Library (Centenary Square/ICC/Symphony Hall) on battery power.
